One Year

Just a quick post today as I’m taking some blogging downtime over the Easter break whilst trying to finish my photography website, eat my weight in lamb and chocolate, and plough on through The Hunger Games trilogy.

A year ago today, I wrote my first post on this blog. I think this breaks my personal record for longest journal yet, both written and online.

Arlo was six months old. I was just coming out of the fog of the early days and I wanted a home for all the thoughts that were forming whilst out on our twice daily nap-time walks – Arlo would refuse to sleep without movement for another couple of months yet. (Since we finally managed to crack the bliss that is cot-napping at 7 months old, I look back on those days and wonder how I managed not to lose it).

Sam was on a long business trip in Columbia, so Arlo and I were staying at my mum’s for company. Much like the week we’ve just had, the sun felt warm for the first time that year. I logged onto WordPress on the evening of the 6th of April, and began typing. That post was published on the 7th – marking today as the first anniversary.

I don’t tend to stick to a lot of hobbies and resolutions, but I’m definitely still having fun with this one.

Hopefully this is Year One of many.
