  • So, the school summer holiday is coming to a close. It’s been a mixed bag for us. The massive high of our wedding right at the start was followed by zero plans for the rest of the summer and, on my part, a fair bit of floundering and feeling a bit down. I wasn’t prepared to have a low couple of weeks and as a result I am struggling somewhat with feeling like I’ve let the boys down a bit with the amount of time they’ve spent at home, indoors. But they are happy, and in the grand scheme of things this is reality for 90% of people during the school summer holidays, and all the FOMO stuff that we see on Instagram is probably the reality for only 5% of people. I feel weird leaving this on a glum note so I will end with saying that the absolute best thing about summer has been seeing the relationship between these three grow. During the week, Otto leads quite a separate life to his bros, so he’s LOVED having them around all day every day. Two is definitely the age where they start to hold their own - his language has exploded so much recently, so he can communicate and play on an (almost) equal level to his brothers now. This summer, they’ve created their own in-jokes and had a lot of fun together. We always knew we wanted a handful of kids so they could be their own little gang, and it’s all kinds of lovely seeing that start to happen ❤️

  • Fashion posts are for slim people - is the rubbish I used to tell myself. But you know what the most enjoyable aspect of Instagram is for me at the moment? Finding people who are styling clothes that look pretty much how it would look on my own body. The #averagegirlsize hashtag as a brilliant source of information, and ladies like @hannahfgale @vixmeldrew, @mollyjforbes and @mother_of_daughters, @stylemesunday and @erica_davies give me the inspiration, confidence and evidence that there is a big demand for women who want to see average body shapes looking bangin’. (Did you know the average women’s clothes size for the UK is a size 16?) I’m glad I didn’t wait until I was a straight up and down size 10 again to post what I’m wearing (let’s be honest, that ship has sailed long ago now and I’ve learnt a lot about how to dress my size 14 on the bottom size 16 on the top body) My fashion videos are BY FAR my most popular content on YouTube, which says to me that fashion posts are NOT just for slim people. Dressing for your body shape is a skill that lots and lots of women are looking for inspiration on. Who are your favourite accounts to follow on Instagram for fashion info and positivity?

  • RELOCATING. We are starting to think about it. But the question is: Where do you go when you’ve lived in London all your life? It’s not that I’m one of those “there’s no life outside London” types. I feel no attachment to the city itself. But all our family live here. Any move takes us further away from them. It’s also weird when you live in one of the last remaining reasonably priced London postcodes, and most moves to somewhere within the commuter belt / Home Counties have unachievable house prices for us. We’re taking the next year or two to figure it out, but in the meantime if anyone can give me a heads up for where I can find a 4/5 bed house under an hour to Gatwick & Heathrow (and no more than 1.5hrs from South London), not in a grammar school / religious secondary stronghold area, for a budget of under 600k...that would be amazing 😉 Did you move out of London?
