Just an advanced warning that starting from tomorrow, this blog is going to be 100% breastfeeding posts for a week.
As part of National Breastfeeding Week, I am once again taking part in the Breastfeeding Scavenger Hunt. Organised by Karen McCully (owner of BoobieMilk), the goal of this scavenger hunt is to inform and educate families about breastfeeding as well as providing an online platform for people to share their knowledge and own experiences during National Breastfeeding Awareness Week (20th-26thJune).
During this week, bloggers will come together to share their own breastfeeding knowledge and experiences. There is also the chance to win some great breastfeeding goodies by entering the rafflecopter boxes on the participating blog posts.
I LOVE this week – I love hearing other people’s breastfeeding experiences, and as a breastfeeding mum for almost four years now (!!), I find it the perfect opportunity to share my experiences and updates regarding my own breastfeeding journey.
It’s not about the ‘breastfeeding mafia’, it’s not about ‘breast is best’, it’s not about denouncing formula. It’s about sharing helpful experiences and being supportive, because breastfeeding is not straightforward – it’s an aspect of parenting that needs to be learnt, and it takes time.
I like what Karen says in her email signature, “My dream is for all women to achieve their breastfeeding goals” – THAT is the point of the Breastfeeding Scavenger Hunt.
I hope you will enjoy the posts I have coming up, but if breastfeeding posts don’t particularly interest you, you might want to look away over the next week ; )
