I can’t lie. I live and breathe portrait photography. It’s where my real excitement in photography lies, it’s how I conduct my obsessive documentation of my children’s ever frequent milestones in these early years, and it also forms the majority (if not nearly all) of my paid photography work. Because of this, it’s very much my natural shooting mode. And so, every now and then, I fell an urge to challenge myself with new and different photography projects that encourage me step away from my ‘shooting on autopilot’ style, to pause and view my surroundings from a fresh perspective.
The Capturing Colour photography project, dreamt up by Kirsty and Clara of My Two Mums, is the perfect vehicle to help me refocus on the little details of my every day life that can often pass me by completely, if I’m not looking.
For 6 weeks, across 6 blogs, we are going to share our posts capturing 6 different colours.
Click on My Two Mums post to read all the info on the project, and if you’d like to check out the other snap-happy bloggers involved in the project, they are: Hayley from Shutterflies, Laura from Circle of Pines, Clare from Maybush Studio, and Lauren from Real Housewife of Suffolk County.
If you are an Instagram user or a blogger, do share your own photos and help create a huge splash of bright and beautiful imagery across the #capturingcolour hashtag. We are currently capturing all things blue, and a new colour begins every Monday.
