Luckily there are plenty of eco-friendly ways to give your home a deep clean, try using these four tips to make a start.


1 . Try green cleaning


One of the best ways to keep things eco-friendly is to buy yourself some green-cleaners. Green-cleaning products are made using non-toxic and natural ingredients complete with sustainable packaging. You can even use vinegar to scrub carpet stains or polish your chrome surfaces. The best thing about vinegar is that it’s nontoxic, so you can use it around your children and pets.


Lemons juice is perfect for removing the grease from your countertops, while baking soda is the ideal natural solution to clean out your drains. First, pour half a cup of baking soda down your drain, then insert the drain plug. Wait for around 30 minutes, and then pour boiling water into the drain. Perhaps you’ve noticed foul smells around your home? Or are you experiencing frequent blockages? In this case, it’s advisable to look into drain inspections.


  1. Use indoor plants


Buy yourself a few nice houseplants; these will help to clean your indoor air, removing the toxins. For your bathroom, Aloe Vera is a great choice; this plant will thrive in the humid conditions and remove benzene and formaldehyde from the air. Neem trees are a nice choice for the bedroom; these will absorb CO2 and emit oxygen at night time.


  1. Try essential oils


Essential oils aren’t just great for relaxation; they also make great cleaning products. Try using tea tree oil to clean your bathroom and kitchen. The oil will remove germs, bacteria, and viruses from your surfaces. Another good oil to use is lavender; it has great antibacterial properties, and will easily remove dirt and grime. Once you’ve given your surfaces a scrub with essential oils, your home will both look and smell amazing!
