I have been lusting after DFS’s sleek modern sofa designs for a good while now.
So, I was very excited to be invited along to have a first look at the brand new range, the Capsule Collection.
Having already admired the mid century style of the French connection Zinc collaboration, I was expecting the new collection to be equally as good. I wasn’t expecting to be completely blown away.
The Capsule collection is one of the most stylish sofa and armchair collections I’ve ever seen. The concept was born when DFS noticed an increasing demand from their customers for stylish designs that suit small spaces.
I’m seriously hard pressed to pick a favourite. The Lull in grey is a brilliant all-rounder, it would look great with any style and colour scheme. I just adore the modern lines of this sofa, it’s such a stand out piece.
Black velvet wasn’t really on my radar before, but as soon as I saw the Truth sofa, I fell in love with it’s cozy elegance. And to top it off, as well as a wide choice of fabrics, you can customise all of the Capsule Collection sofas and chairs further with a choice of copper, dark, nickel, or washed oak legs. Allowing your sofa to REALLY make a statement. (I can’t stop thinking about a black velvet and copper leg combo).
The hexagon footstool was another thing I LOVED about the DFS Capsule collection – it also comes in the same matching range of fabrics and customisable legs.
During my afternoon with DFS, I got to meet the design team, and even had a go at designing my own cushion. It’s been a while since I sat down and did anything that I could even remotely call ‘art’. With three children, making time to create non-digital art just feels like the ultimate indulgence. But I always appreciate when I get an excuse to do it, and I’m instantly reminded of it’s unwinding effect. It’s rather therapeutic.
(Can you guess which design might be mine?)
Sam was working from home in order to do the school pick up whilst I was at the DFS event, so to stop him from being even more of a nuisance for Sam, Otto came along with me. As always, I am never too sure how our almost-toddler will fare at ‘grown up’ events, but he was amazingly well behaved (mostly because I think he was very much enjoying all the attention!). He also made a very good photo prop ; )
If you have a small space yet want to be able to make a big statement with your furniture, the DFS Capsule collection is definitely for you. Which one would you pick? Check out the full range here.
