We recently took a last minute trip to Camber Sands, which I will talk more about in a later post, but first I just wanted to share these photos of my boy at the beach.
In an unexpected turn of events, I got to spend a couple of uninterrupted hours with this guy whilst Rory and Baby O both decided to go in for a long nap under our beach sun shade.
We went for an explore on the sand dunes, and even had time to fit in a game of beach football, in which I was very proud to be declared as “Quite good at this” and “really quite fast now, perhaps because you don’t have a baby in your tummy these days”.
There was a time when he didn’t much like the texture of the sand, and even now, you’ll still NEVER find him in the water. But nowadays, Arlo is really quite at home at the seaside. He’ll waste no time in covering himself head to toe in sand, and he’ll amuse himself happily for hours just digging holes – the simple things.
We were at the beach for a total of six hours that day, and he did. not. stop. moving. for one second.
I get the least one on one time with him – he is at school for such a large portion of the week, and I’m rarely without the younger two children. So, I’ll always savour the moments that we get to have alone together. Once upon a time, it was just the two of us, after all.
Here are a series of photos that I took of my eldest – sand on his face, legs that don’t stop moving. Arlo, this is you at almost six years.
