Talking to Arlo about the new baby

Obviously I’m leading his answers here in an effort to get it all on camera, but this is an idea of the daily conversations we are having with 26 month old Arlo concerning the impending arrival of his baby brother or sister.

He mentions these topics all the time. Particularly when he will get to meet the baby, when is the baby coming out, and pointing out exactly where the baby is in Mama’s tummy. He’s pretty excited that the baby might be getting him a few new trains as a ‘welcome to my life’ present.

(Sorry about the mouthfuls of pasta, the highchair is the only place I can get a decent video without him running away)

  1. This is so cute.

I stumbled across your blog whilst researching ERF a few months ago and have been hooked ever since (although this is the first comment I’ve left – sorry!) Your photos give such an insight in to Arlo’s personality, so it’s funny to see an actual video to confirm it.

On a personal level I love the glimpse in to where we might be in a year’s time, as my son is 13 months younger.

  2. He’s adorable! We have an excited 4year old awaiting to meet her sister. It must seem like a lifetime for children when their mum is pregnant!

  3. So cute! I love the way he says his name :) my oldest used to call himself “oh-ka” for the longest time (as in Oskar).
